NORTHWEST ALASKA HOMELESS COALITION
In partnership with Maniilaq Association, Northwest Arctic Borough, NANA Regional Corporation and NIHA the Northwest Alaska Homeless Coalition was established to combat or prevent homelessness. We are working towards a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit status through the Internal Revenue Service.

WINTER EMERGENCY SHELTER
The Winter Emergency Shelter is open from Nov 1 to April 20 of each calendar year; it is located in the basement of the Eskimo Building from 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. seven days per week.
We welcome non-perishable food and gently used winter gear is always welcomed, please drop them at NIHA located at 1000 Turf Street or you can mail them to NIHA P.O. Box 331, Kotzebue, Alaska 99752 or call 907-442-3450 for pick up.
SUMMER DAY SHELTER & HOT MEAL PROGRAM
The Summer Day Shelter & Hot Meal Program is open from June 15 to September 15 of each calendar year; it is located on 3rd Street at the Cudd Hall next door to the Presbyterian Church. The shelter is open from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the hot meals are served at 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are closed on weekends and holidays
VOUCHER PROGRAM
NIHA provides limited number of hotel vouchers to individuals or families who cannot find a place of their own, this is a temporary solution for keeping families together without any place to go.
RAPID REHOUSING
NIHA can help you with security deposit assistance and utility connections to prevent individuals and families for becoming homeless.
